Finalists for this year’s Dragon Awards have been released. Winners will be announced at Dragon Con, held in Atlanta GA from Aug 31st to Sept 4th, 2023.

The eligibility period for the awards is from mid-year to mid-year, so some of the finalists were published in 2022, others in 2023.

Winners last year included James S.A. Corey, Holly Black, Sarah Hollowell, David Weber/Timothy Zahn/Thomas Pope, Mercedes Lackey, Timothy Zahn, and Chuck Wendig.

The Military SF/F Novel category has been dropped this year, as has the Media Tie-in Novel category. The Comic Book and Graphic Novel categories have been combined. The SF/F TV Series category now allows for Internet release. And there’s a new category this year, for Illustrative Cover.

The full ballot on the Dragoncon.org site includes nominees for Best Digital Game and Best Tabletop Game, not compiled here.
