A new tab on the homepage: Anthologies & Collections Directory

As it says there: “Sfadb will eventually consolidate data from awards, citations, and anthology/collection reprints, in order to profile the most significant books and stories across the history of the sf/f/h genres, in a data-driven, statistical manner.”

It’s never been just about awards.

I have bunches and bunches of other anthologies lined up to add, and I think I’ll wait to add another bunch, over the next week, before I publicize the addition of this page on Facebook or Fictionmags or wherever.

A first crude tally of titles referenced by the Citation Sources posted just over a year ago, listed at http://www.sfadb.com/Citations_Directory.

There are many more citation sources to post, some substantial; I’ve already compiled them, but need to hold off posting them until I can check and verify bibliographic details (year of publication and publisher) for titles not already listed here, which takes some research and time.

This is Ken Liu’s fifth award for “The Paper Menagerie”.

As I alluded yesterday on Facebook, I have started implementing various FAQ and tally and statistics pages on this site that were part of the old site, the Locus Index to SF Awards. As I said on Facebook, I’m rethinking all of these pages, and don’t plan to reproduce all of the old ones. For the moment, there is a new link on the homepage here to a directory page where these various tallies and statistics and FAQs will be listed. Having set up the initial steps to generate these pages, additional ones will be easy, and in fact, having already posted two general tallies, I have a couple three ideas for semi-global tallies that I think I can set up quickly this evening.

Once everything I want to preserve from the old site is reproduced on the new site… the old site will be deleted.
