Winners of the 42nd annual Prometheus Awards, for libertarian science fiction, have been announced. Formal presentation of the awards will occur online in late August.

Last year’s winners were The Hook by Barry B. Longyear and “Lipidleggin'” by F. Paul Wilson. A complete list of winners is here.

These are the first nomination and first win for Wil McCarthy, the eighth win and 11th nomination for Robert A. Heinlein. (Complete tallies.)

Note that for the Hall of Fame Award, a novel or story may be nominated again and again until it wins. As it happens, Rudyard Kipling’s story “As Easy as A.B.C.” has been nominated every year since 2006 and has never won.
