Orson Scott Card, ed.

Ace, 2001

Card's anthology is not, he states, a history of science fiction, but rather "stories that I loved when I first read them and that, upon rereading, I still love and admire". Card wrote occasional short fiction reviews from 1979 to 1990 (under the title "You Got No Friends in This World"), which is reflected in the focus of the last third of the book on stories from those years.
